Today, we’re introducing the simple baby version of the puff stitch, called bean stitch. This is an easy level stitch and its a lot of fun to create. If you missed Day 1 in our 30 stitches in 30 days, or want to see the calendar, check it out here.
How to Crochet Bean Stitch:
Yarn Over(YO), insert hook into stitch, YO, draw up a loop, YO, Insert hook again, yarn over and draw up another loop, 5 loops on hook, YO and draw through all loops on the hook. Finally, chain to finish the stitch.
Multiples of 2 stitches.
Stitch Pattern:
Try our favourite yarn for this pattern.
Row 1: sc in second ch and each stitch across. Ch 2, Turn.
Row 2: hdc in first stitch, *bean stitch, skip 1 st* Repeat across, hdc in final stitch.
Continue repeating Row 2.
Now this one would look cute as an accent row, or 2 on a hat, or to finish off before the border on a blanket. I’m sure you’ll have some creative ways to use this stitch. It’s just so cute.
Alright, here is the video that goes with this stitch:
