Waistcoat (knit) stitch is a variation on the single crochet, that makes it appear like the knit stitch in knitting. Its a thicker and fun alternative if you like the look of knit, but don’t know how, or haven’t learned it yet. This stitch can also be called center single crochet as well.
How to make Waistcoat Stitch:
Insert your hook into the center of the below sc, under both horizontal strands. My hook is showing the location under the strands, but you want to be between the little upside down V that is happening in the image below, yarn over and draw up a loop, and finish your single crochet.
Stitch Pattern:
Multiples: Any number of stitches
Row 1: single crochet across.
Row 2: ch, turn. waistcoat single crochet (wsc), repeat across.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2.
