Today we are going to show how to make this wonderful cabled braid with crochet. We’re going to use our front post and back post double crochets, so if you need the tutorial on those, click here.
Crochet Cabled Braids
8 stitches needed, plus any others to build out your panel.
Row 1 (WS): ch 2, dc into each stitch across.
Row 2: dc, *skip 2 stitches, work 2 tc into the next 2 stitches, then working in front of the previous tc, work a tc into each of the 2 skipped stitches, (this is also known as a front cross with 4 stitches from the * to this point) then skip the first 2 worked tc and dc into the final 3 stitches.
Row 3: dc into each stitch.
Row 4: ch 2 and dc into first 3 stitches, *skip 2 stitches, tc into the next 2 stitches, working in behind the tc, into the skipped stitches, tc into each of the skipped stitches,(this is also known as a back cross with 4 stitches from the * to here), dc at the end of the row.
Continue working Rows 1-4 until you reach your desired length.
This stitch can be added to an already written pattern, to add some additional interest, like as an accent to a simple blanket. I’d love to see what you do with it! Let me know your plan with this stitch pattern, below.

I hope you come back tomorrow for Day 7: V-Stitch!
See you over there!
